NOV Mission Magnum Vortex™ offers proven performance of the Magnum I adapted with a concentric vortex casing. The pump also features identically sized suction and discharge flanges, and a high performance vortex designed impeller. The impeller produces a smooth hydraulic whirlpool of fluid in front of the impeller creating a vacuum. The vortex design eliminates the eye of the impeller reducing the possibility of vapor lock; making it an excellent selection for high suction lift applications where net positive suction head is low.
Typical Applications
• Pulp and paper • Primary metals • Municipal sewage treatment • Chemical process industry
• Lower radial loads • Decrease shaft deflection • Designed to pump continuously even when suction runs dry • Re-prime without vapor locking and transfer fluid once positive suction feed has been restored • Versatile stuffing box • Thick, strong, concentric casing with replaceable casing wear pad • Casing gasket receded for protection • Long-life, no-adjustment mechanical seal available for near zero leakage • Labyrinth seals for maximum bearing protection come standard • Wide semi-open impeller creates lower axial thrust for improved bearing life • Stronger material options: Hard iron, Stainless steel, Aluminum bronze, Magnachrome, Supreme Hard • Smoother, non-turbulent flow throughout casing
• Sizes from 3x3x14, 4x4x14, and 6x6x14 • Flow rates from a few gallons per minute up to 2,400 GPM • Head pressure from 200 feet • Best utilized for applications requiring up to 200 HP
