• Liquid Additive Unit

NOV’s Liquid Additive Skid is a simple, safe solution for adding liquid chemicals from barrels or containers directly into the drilling fluid mix line.

    Description

NOV’s Liquid Additive Skid is a simple, safe solution for adding liquid chemicals from barrels or containers directly into the drilling fluid mix line. This compact unit is fully self-contained, with manual controls and electronic instrumentation for monitoring pump speed. As an option, the Liquid Additive Skid can be fully automated and remote controlled for full operational flexibility. The unit can also be delivered with harrel holder including integrated drip tray.

    Features/Benefits

    Main Features:
Handles all normal liquid chemicals, including high viscosity
    Easy installation, operation and maintenance
    Adjustable feeding rates
Skid and piping made of stainless steel
Feeding into dual mixing lines simultaneously
Meets all relevant offshore requirements regarding health, safety and environment
Certified for operation in hazardous areas
Built with materials and surface protections to withstand the roughest offshore environments

    Operating Benefits:
NOV’s Liquid Additive Skid is normal available with two (2) pumps as standard. These are air-driven diaphragm metering pumps; this pump is utilized for its simplicity and good volumetric performance. Pumping rates are controlled by choking the drive air, or by remotely choking the fluid output from the pumps.

The suction hoses are equipped with individual shut-off valves and stainless steel suction pipes for complete emptying of barrels without risking chemical spillage.

The outputs from the pumps are connected, by valve battery, to two manifolds, thus delivering the fluid to two separate mixing lines.
