    NOV’s High Rate Mixer is the most efficient solution for high capacity mixing of barite into the drilling fluid. Barite is transferred directly from the bulk storage tank and mixed into the dedicated mud pit. An integrated “in-line mixer” and an air diluter prevent emissions (environmental pollution).

    Operating Features and Benefits:
    NOV’s High Rate Mixer is a venturi type jet mixer. The jet nozzle for the fluid is adjustable to suit the plant characteristics.
    The mixer is mounted directly on top of a mud pit by means of a standard flange. This flange carries the whole unit with mixing head, in-line mixer, drop pipe and air diluter.
    Barite from the pneumatic conveying system enters the mixing head through a straight jet nozzle.
    The high velocity hollow liquid stream with the barite stream inside creates considerable shear forces as the two streams are colliding in the defusing part of the mixing head.
    The static in-line mixer beneath the mixing head decelerates the speed of the materials and completes the mixing.
    The air diluter prevents dust emission even when there is a low level in mud pit.
